“The experience of the joy that the unknown brings, the great ecstasy that starts happening with the unknown, makes you strong enough, gives you a certain integrity, makes your intelligence sharp. For the first time you start feeling that life is not just a boredom but an adventure. Then slowly slowly fears disappear; then you are always seeking and searching for some adventure.”
I have never been a big fan of extreme sensations. I do not enjoy those powerful adrenaline rushes, but I do like the feeling of doing something new and unfamiliar every now and then. I like experimenting. Learning. Exploring new worlds. It really makes me feel alive. Last week Ron and I got involved in such an unfamiliar experience. We received an invitation by Jet-Ops to go on a private flight tour over the outskirts of Sofia.
I won’t be lying – we both had some inner worries about this. But I also knew how happy we would be afterwards if we took the challenge. I was right. Apart from seeing the beauty of nature from a bird’s eye, which was so inspiring, we stepped outside our comfort zone and it was delightful. By doing it, I also got another chance to do something new. The pilot of this small blue jet plane gave me the rule over the machine. Never have I ever thought that on this hot summer day I would be given this opportunity! But I accepted it – because that’s what one should do with opportunities. Which brings me back to a pretty popular thought…
At the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take…
Well, Ron and I took this chance, and I’m so glad we did. I’m glad we stepped outside our comfort zone and made something new and exciting. That’s my advice to you. Do exciting things – more often. Indulge in adventures from time to time to experience the joy that the unknown brings. You will be more than happy with yourselves.
