When December hits and Christmas quickly approaches, I always enjoy boosting my Christmas spirits by listening to themed songs and watching themed movies. However, I feel so bored with the Home Alone series already, and all those Santa stories like The Santa Clause series. So, I decided to compile a list of 9 Christmas movies I will be watching this holidays season and share it with you.
This is my favorite Christmas themed movie of all. It’s profound and has a deep meaning. Main character is played by Nicolas Cage, and it’s a wonderful performance of his. I will be watching and re-watching it many times this holiday season.
I recently asked on IG stories what Christmas movies you’d recommend. 50% of you answered Love Actually. And yes – it’s an all time classic for romantic movie lovers. They also released a sequence Love Actually 2, which is not Christmas-themed, but I would give it a go.
Calling all romantic souls – anyone who doesn’t enjoy this one? Other half of my IG respondents recommended this movie, and I would, too. It’s a story about two women troubled with guy-problems swap homes in each other’s countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love.
If you are keen on old movies, go find Miracle on 34th Street, which came out in 1994. It’s a story about a lawyer and a little girl who must prove a man claiming to be Santa Claus is the real Santa.
It’s my favorite Christmas animation. Always loved Shrek, and this holiday edition is the sweetest and funniest 30-minute Christmas story. Children and adults would all enjoy Shrek characters putting their own spin on holiday traditions.
Similar to the previous Christmas movie suggestion, it’s another cute and short themed animation for the whole family, where Sid, Eddie and Crash get in trouble with Santa and have to get their names off of the naughty list.
I haven’t seen 1995 romantic movie While You Were Sleeping, but it’s on my list, so I decided to include it. :)
Sarah Jessica Parker plays the role of a conservative businesswoman who accompanies her boyfriend to his eccentric family’s annual Christmas celebration. The Family Stone unites comedy, romance and drama all in one.
The 2004 Noel movie starring Susan Sarandon, Penélope Cruz and Paul Walker telling the Christmas story of a few New Yorkers.
