“Beauty to me is about being comfortable in you own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick.” — Gwyneth Paltrow
Not any doubts about the first point, and even less for the second part of this observation. I’ve seen many women who fascinate with confidence, just because they feel great in their own skin. I’ve also seen such women wearing red lipstick, and have found myself speechless in front of them. Though beauty does come from within and your own attitude towards yourself, there are some classy additions that can turn every woman into a stunning, sexy and breathtaking lady. One of these is a red lipstick.
I used to believe red lips are okay just for special events and night looks, but things have changed. There is nothing wrong about showing off some bold lips during the day, as long as the right shade in the right amount is being applied. I’m a firm believer that a nice deep pop of red contrasting a black & white outfit, hence an all-black one, is a sure path to staying stylish no matter if it’s a p.m. or a.m. Nowadays I feel a lot more confident in a bold shade during the day than before. I found out for myself that there should be less space for prejudices, as red lips can be a fantastic statement detail for the day.
What about you? Would you have your lips colored in red during the day, or you’re more conservative about it?
As I mentioned earlier, red lips look great on blacks and whites, or a combo of these two. In this case, I’m wearing an all-black outfit e.g. a fitted dress, a boyfriend-style coat, wool fedora and suede boots, with a hint of white e.g. a cashmere scarf pearl studs. The latter supplement the overall look very nicely, inserting a little bit of contrast, which I do like. I’ve also decided to opt for a red bag, but this isn’t really a must. You will definitely do a great job inserting color only through your lips.

P.S.: I’d recommend investing in a quality red lipstick to avoid wacky situations. At the end of the day, you’ll most probably be using it for a very long period of time. However, if you still don’t feel like doing it, you can have a look at another pretty decent option in a post that appeared previously on Purely Me by Denina Martin.
See you soon,
