What’s your self-love mantra? Do you tend to forget that loving yourself is as important as loving people around you? Days before Valentine’s Day, I believe it’s a good thing to remind ourselves. Because how can one love you, if you don’t love yourself?
I know that this one is tricky. It became a bit fashionable to preach the idea of self-love, but I guess it’s much needed in our society nowadays. As long as it doesn’t turn into some sort of egocentrism, of course. In a world of social media and constant comparison, all that really matters is to love yourself first – whether or not you meet the social expectations. Because social expectations are made up. They’re inconstant and change, and that doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Here’s a nice mantra to repeat to yourself. Not just today or this week, but year-long.
You are unique. You are beautiful. You are more than lovable. Just the way you are. All the little flaws you have are yours and they make you the person you are. Settle down, relax and learn to love them. If you salute every single day with your brightest smile, the world smiles back at you. Good attracts good. Positive attracts positive. Love attracts love. Step out of your comfort zone and proudly express the biggest confession of love: The one to yourself! Because you can only love others, if you love yourself first.
