Do you remember the early 2000s when we were all into pink makeup? I do. And yes – this makeup trend from my childhood is back. Think of baby pink eyeshadow, accompanied by delicate pink blush and of course, the ultimate lip must-have – the lip gloss.
I fancy this makeup come-back so I ordered a few new products. Believe it or not, I never had experience with MAC products other than on set, as makeup artists use MAC Cosmetics a lot. I always had this vision that they are heavy and more studio/photoshoot appropriate. Of course, I finally came to the realisation that I was completely wrong.
Here’s what I use to achieve this delicate make-up look.
FOUNDATION: I was looking for a foundation that is pregnancy-safe and very natural-looking. This is how I came across MAC Cosmetics Studio Face and Body Foundation. Absolutely lightweight, and turned out to be quite good on my dry skin! It’s in no way heavy. Has light to medium coverage which is perfect for me. And even if I apply more of it, it still wouldn’t look cakey. I chose colour N3 and I really got it perfectly right for my complexion at the moment. So happy I gave it a go!
EYES: When it comes to the eyes, I was reading good reviews on MAC Cosmetics In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara and now that I have tried it I can say I am happy with it, too. It is not waterproof and is very easy to take off which I prefer. Also, I like the brush – allows me to brush and thus elongate my eyelashes in addition to adding volume. I also ordered the MAC Cosmetics Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadow in colour Felt Cute. It is a very soft and gentle pink. However, it turned out to be lighter in colour upon application.
CHEEKS: When it comes to my pink cheeks, I loved the MAC Cosmetics Glow Play Blush in Cheeky Devil. It gives a healthy look to the face, and has a creamy-like texture which looks very natural. I would also use a bit of it on my lids to create a full look.
LIPS: And last but not the least, the star from the past – the lip gloss. I remember when all my friends and I had pink lip glosses and would apply every 15 minutes. Of course, they were pink and had pearl shine. So, I felt like I really would love to try this out again and ordered MAC Cosmetics Lipglass in Nymphette. It gives a solid shine to the lips and hydrates them well. It’s not super sticky and still lasts long enough. I did expect it to be slightly more pink but I am still good with the shade.
How do you feel about this makeup trend? Does it make you nostalgic and would you wear it again?
