With every new season coming, I love to change something in my daily make-up look and refresh it. I recently decided to try and incorporate the 2019 color of the year – living coral. And it is no challenge at all. I used some of my favorite basic products, plus two new additions – a coral lipstick and a coral blush. Sharing below all the details around this easy coral makeup look to try and freshen up your looks, because coral is a very flattering color for most complexions and eye-color types.
Here’s what I use for this coral makeup look:
The best foundation for Spring/Summer for me personally is Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude (3N1 Ivory Beige is my shade). It is the lighter version of the classic Double Wear foundation and is easily spreadable even on dry skin like mine, giving it a discrete natural glow. It is my everyday foundation this season and the one I used here to achieve an absolutely natural look.
To add the key touch of coral, I use the YSL Couture Blush in Corail Rive Gauche #4. It has a really lightweight texture and looks very natural as it’s easy to blend and spread. Even if applying more, it still looks good. Not cakey at all. However, my not so secret trick for looking really fresh is applying blush on my eyelids. It changes the entire appearance, making it seem more finished while certainly not overdone.
While there are so many nice mascaras on the market I can recommend (Dior, Guerlain & Estee Lauder, etc.), I am pretty much a fan of Lancome’s ones, too. Now I use Lancome Hypnose for a classic touch of my eyelashes. It adds volume and combs the lashes so they look really natural, while making the eyes pop.
To finish off I add the other key ingredient – the coral shine lipstick – YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick in #15 Corail Intuitive / Corail Spontini. It provides a luscious color and luminous shine while conditioning lips. 60% of it are oils that nourish the lips. Plus, the aroma of mango makes me wanna eat it!
And it is all perfect if there is a really nice and fresh fragrance to complete the makeup look. For me the scent that matches the coral vibe as it is super fresh and romantic is Chanel Gabrielle. To be honest, with its release last year, I was a bit disappointed – mainly because it seemed to be not as long lasting as I wished. However, this Spring I decided to give it a go again, and it turned into one of my signature fragrances. Once again I proved myself that fragrances and people have their seasons, and that it’s only a matter of mood and expectations to like or not like a fragrance. Well, now I’m certainly in the mood for this floral-citrusy perfume.
