During the past few days Sofia Fashion Week AW16 took place. This time last September I attended the first edition and it has become a tradition to get dressed up in H&M (here, here and here).
However, for AW16 I was present at Day 1 and Day 5. For the first evening, my selection was inspired by the 90s: an elegant slip dress styled with a simple white T-shirt underneath. An extra dose of fun was added with the star earrings. They really remind of that cool and crazy decade, don’t they? For the closing event I went for a mix of two key trends – velvet and sleepwear as outerwear. Jewelry was minimalistic, while the handbag turned into a key accent. Maybe because of its shape and the metallic hue of the dress this outfit felt very cosmic in a cute and girly way.
In regards to the event itself, I honestly felt slightly confused in my feelings about it. I still love the idea of Fashion Week taking place in Sofia, but was kind of disappointed with the overall organization and shows. However, I firmly believe positives should be highlighted, because they would inspire and lead to the rise of others. One designer brand that walked the SFW runway and deserves attention is Ivanka Hristova. Her creations were modern and colorful. Hence, there was a rhythmic and distinguishable show concept from beginning till end. Fantastic job to this young lady!
