The 70s won’t die when it comes to trends. Or at least, that’s what the recent years have shown. For me this works perfectly, as 70s (together with the 90s) is my absolutely favorite age in fashion. ♥
This Autumn there’s this sepia-tinged mood set in fashion, which I already talked about here. In previous years we’ve seen a lot of suede trending inspired by the age of the hippies. This season it’s more about the rich warm-toned color palette, and not that much of the hippie-inspired feel. Think of the 70s in soft fabrics & classic prints within a palette of caramel, tan, toffee, tobacco and any shade being a variation to camel. A fun fact actually is that Pantone defines one of those trendy hues as “Meerkat” – a highly adaptable toasty burnished brown which in fact is the color of my blazer. However, whether you pick the meerkat brown or any other of those 70s shades, my tip is to recreate the age with the thought of elegance and sophistication for best results.
Are you enjoying the sepia-tinged mood that has overwhelmed all the collections this season?
