Mountain skin care products
Bulgarian mountains

The best thing about winter is spending it somewhere at a higher altitude a.k.a. up in the mountains where the sky is blue, the sun is shining and the snow is giving you the winter fairy tale vibes. As good as it seems, it has its own specifics, especially when it comes to skincare. In other words, the beauty regimen needs to adapt to that change of altitude. So, today I’m sharing with you my favorite skincare products for a mountain holiday or a day up in the winter wonderland.

Skin care winter products

As this year we have been committed to spending more time up in the mountains, I built a set of products to rely on considering the specific weather conditions up there. Here’s what I’m using:

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF

High in the mountains the skin is much more vulnerable to the effects of UV rays. That means an increased risk of skin damage and sunburn, which makes SPF protection a really key part of the beauty regimen. And La Roche-Posay Anthelios Series is real good at providing skin protection.

Lancôme Hydra Zen Balm Neurocalm™ BB Cream

Wind and cold have a negative on hydration, so Lâncome‘s Hydra Zen calming balm works great for me, locking down hydration, calming my skin and covering tiny imperfections as it’s a tinted BB cream.

Avène Cold Cream

The Avène Cold Cream series is one of the best out there as it literally insulates the skin from cold and wind conditions, locking in moisture and making skin super soft. I’m using the hand cream at the moment but definitely recommend the entire series.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

Lips get chopped in winter, and Burt’s Bees is one of the best products with natural ingredients to skip that part of winter. I opted for a tinted version of the balm, as it’s always good to adds a natural looking color to the face.

Guerlain Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash

Frozen or not, snow is water. Whenever there’s water, it’s always good to opt for a waterproof mascara and avoid embarrassing situations. Especially, for one is skiing. So, here comes the waterproof Guerlain Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash – an old favorite of mine.

Moroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil

Hair needs extra care at lower temperatures, unless you like its frizzy looks. I don’t, so I use nourishing oils like Moroccanoil to keep it healthy.

Do you have favorite beauty products for a holiday in the mountains that you always use?
