Nespresso festive receipe
Notella macchiato nespresso

I recently got challenged by Nespresso to show you my Christmas retreats – recipes that feel cosy and festive. And since I like challenges, I did accept this one! Today I show you my 3 Nespresso recipes for a festive December. Let me know if you try them – curious to know your thoughts! :)

For the recipes below I used the limited edition Italian taste – the Amaretti flavour. The bittersweet almond and vanilla aromas strike a beautiful balance with the South American Arabicas’ lingering cereal character and surprising zesty fruit note in this taste. It is also a great taste to have with milk, although I use use non-diary milk and it still is amazing. However, you can always use your favorite flavour for any of those recipes!

This one might be the easiest of all and yet very tasty! It takes only three ingredients.

1 cup of freshly prepared Nespresso Amaretti espresso

1 teaspoon of Nutella

30ml Almond milk (or other milk of choice)

Prepare the coffee in you Nespresso machine and add the Nutella. Stir until it dissolves in the coffee. Add the milk to the milk frother and add on top of the espresso-Nutella mixture. I have the Aeroccino 3 and it creates a wonderful foam for the macchiato!

This recipe is not much more complex but it takes a bit more ingredients. However, it is still super indulgent and worth it! If you are having relatives coming around your place, you will please them so with it!

1 cup of freshly prepared Nespresso Amaretti espresso

1 piece of dark chocolate

5ml Almond syrup

100ml Milk foam (I use sugar-free almond milk)

Cocoa powder

Wafer rolls for decoration (optional)

Place the piece of dark chocolate in a Cappuccino cup. Prepare the Amaretti flavour espresso on top of it. Stir until the chocolate dissolves. Add the almond syrup. (You can prepare some yourself and store it in the fridge. See below for a how-to.) Prepare the milk foam using Aeroccino and add to the coffee mix. Sprinkle with some cocoa powder and garnish with wafer rolls (optional).

Homemade almond syrup: Prepare by mixing equal parts of water in a pot on a medium to low heat. Add slivered almonds and stir until the mixture becomes a little bit thicker. Remove the almonds. You can also use almond essence, instead, to achieve the flavour.

This is an alcoholic recipes and you should be careful with quantities. It serves as a good retreat post dinner and really simple to prepare. However, I won’t be able to enjoy it myself this year but it’s a good drink and a guest pleaser!

Vanilla – honey syrup

1/4 cup honey

1 tbsp vanilla extract

3-4 tbsp Vodka

3-4 tbsp Coffee Liquor

1 Amaretti espresso shot

Brown sugar for coating

In a medium pot bring 1/4 cup of water and add the honey & vanilla to a medium heat. Boil for 3 minutes and remove from the heat. This amount should be enough for 5-6 drinks. You can replace the honey with brown sugar or vanilla sugar.

In a shaker, combine 2-3 teaspoons of the honey-vanilla syrup, vodka, coffee liquor and espresso. Add ice and shake. If you wish, you can rim your Martini glass with the sugar. Pour the mixture in it. Enjoy responsibly.
