Location: Milan, Italy
One of my professional dreams has always been to attend a fashion week. I am so grateful to MDL Group for fulfilling my dream. This September Ron and I packed our suitcases and flew to Italy for Milan Fashion Week to be MDL Group’s Fashion Insiders.
The day with fashion events began with a cup of Italian coffee and view to Duomo Square and the prettiest world-famous cathedral. Then, we went on long walks along the iconic Milanese streets and places. Ron and I promised ourselves not to rush and be anything else but tourists. We wanted to turn Milan into an emotional experience. To become “Italians” and merge with this busy urban life. And we succeeded. Perhaps that’s the reason why we enjoyed our Milan experience so much.
Since many things happened at the last minute, eventually I managed to attend one catwalk show and one presentation. I experienced two emotions – as much common as they were different to one another. In the early afternoon of that day I headed for the presentation of one of my favorite brands.
The Presentation of Furla
When I received the invitation for Furla’s event, I was the happiest person alive. Nobody knew but Ron. I did not believe it’s real until I found myself on Via Brera in Palazzo Cusani’s courtyard where the Furla Magic Tales event was taking place.
The presentation revealed a collection, featuring an entirely new concept. New fabrics and techniques that embody Italian craftsmanship and enable customization of style. And to emphasize the uniqueness of each woman, Furla’s new designs are in full 52 variations for each week of the year. What’s common for all of them? The colors, which are as if inspired by nature – balanced and very natural shades. Here you can see some of the models I liked the most. Can’t wait to see them in store this Spring.
Almost immediately after the Furla presentation, I headed to the second fashion event of the day…
The Moschino Catwalk Show
The truth is Moschino is not a brand that matches my personal style too much. It’s funky and very much playful. Even though I certainly like the bags and shoes (those boots and that bag are divine). But let’s go back to the upcoming Spring / Summer 2018 collection, which I saw on the catwalk during Milan Fashion Week.
The experience of watching Jeremy Scott’s show live was fantastic. It’s real art happening in front of your eyes – dynamic and crossing out stereotypes and boundaries. So much that Gigi Hadid closed the show dressed as a bunch of flowers. Yes, spring is always floral, but Jeremy’s is definitely much distinguishable with his bold decisions.
Generally, if I had to describe the Moschino Fashion Show in just one sentence, it would be “The little pony which meets the rock chic girl in a colorful flower shop, accompanied by mysteriously fabulous and somehow dramatic music.” To understand what I mean, go and have a look at the best moments from the night here.
When the show ended and I left the venue, I was filled with emotions. I couldn’t help but think about the fashion industry, how the magic happens and the freedom to express yourself. I felt part of something significant. Hence, I felt in love with a city I have been denying for years.
