Going back to early June. We spent over a week at Halkidiki. One of the places we visited for the first time – 5 Steps in the Sand. The same 5 steps, which my friend told me about before we took off.
5 Steps in the Sand is a tavern, located on one of the most beautiful bays in Halkidiki. Town is Sykia on Sithonia. It’s so picturesque and quiet. One is welcomed by an authenthic greek atmosphere since 1984 – with an inspiring and romantic view over the sea. Cuisine is also authenthic – offering homemade traditional greek dishes and specialties. They say veggies are ecologically produced and sourced from a local family farm. Yet, the real pleasure comes from the experience of enjoying fresh seafood just by the beach, while overlooking at the small fish boats, and seeing how sun goes away just to let the moon come over. It’s beautiful. As wonderful as it is to go along this private beach and wash your feet in the crystal clear salty waters right after dinner – because you are just 5 steps from the sand.
I don’t want to overpraise this place, but from the few days on Sithonia, we spent two evenings here – just because we loved it. And it’s a great spot for children, too. If you plan on a trip or holiday nearby, make sure you visit. We do recommend 5 Steps in the Sand – would it be for a lunch, dinner or just relaxing by the beach.
