“[Snow] brings people together while time stands still.” Rachel Cohn
This sounds so romantic, doesn’t it? Snow makes everything around look pure and simple. It brings romance, a desire to spend time with those you love the most. To me the best thing about winter is the snow, but not when it’s missing. That’s why we thought we need to find our snowy getaway and enjoy the winter wonderland of nature. So, we headed off to Borovets for a couple of days.
Some people call Borovets ‘Switzerland of the Balkans’. Though I’ve never been on a Swiss territory, I can confirm that Borovets is indeed really beautiful and picturesque. We went there last year, and fell in love with the stunning pine trees coated in white. A reason good enough to come back, but this time in a full team of three – Ron, baby Alex and I.
This year we were so lucky for the warm and sunny weather, spending a great deal of time walking outside. This was also a great photo opportunity, which I couldn’t miss. Here’s the first part of my photo memories from this winter wonderland.
Spending time in nature to me means being comfortable, so mostly I prefer wearing leggings. These in particular are ZARA’s, but since they are no longer being sold, I found similar at Mango’s. The sweater (similar here) is in a matching tone as I wanted to accentuate on the plaid shirt (similar here) and red accessories (scarf and beanie hat). I really like the combination of navy and deep saturated reds. Looks great for winter and is a beautiful way to stand out in the snow. Also so appropriate for the approaching St.Valentine’s day!
There’s one more post from our most recent getaway, so stay tuned. Soon it’ll be up on Purely Me by Denina Martin.
