The SALES season is still in, and finding well-priced gorgeous pieces is not yet impossible. I went on a regular shopping hunt to check what’s left from those discounted items, and must say treasures are still there. For this outfit of the week in particular I stopped by at Pepe Jeans, and compiled an outfit pretty characteristic for the brand and on sale!

However, in this context I summed up a few tips on shopping the sales and what you need to do in order to be happy with your shopping experience and decisions. Here’s how to take the maximum of it.

Plan what you really need. A targeted approach will reduce the time wandering around the stores.

Pick the right time that’s most convenient for you. The rush and extra pressure won’t help you make better decisions. For the same reason, don’t shop when you’re hungry, tired, nervous, lonely or bored.

Dress comfortably. I’ve done the mistake not to too many times. The result usually is not feeling like trying on clothes. And here comes the 4th tip…

Always try on the clothes.

Buy the right size or not. If there’s something you really like that’s bigger, it’s fine. In most cases, you can always get it tailored. It’s not the same case about smaller sizes, though.

Shop on Thursdays and Fridays. Most retailers start sales on these days. By Sunday the chances of finding what you’re hoping for are far tinier.

Ask around. The store assistants are there to help, and can guide you better than you think.

Check out the dressing room. Too often the size you’re looking for might be hiding there.

Pick quality over quantity. Quality pieces are more expensive and sales season is the right moment to buy them. They will last longer and look more polished like the Pepe Jeans Jacket I’m wearing here.

Consider the season. I usually love shopping the discounted items that can be worn in the upcoming season. However, seasonal sales take place about two months before the season ends, so it doesn’t need to be a rule.
