This year for the first time Pantone has announced a color of the year which blends two different shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity. Inspired by its complexity and depth, I’m sharing my take on the color of the year.
Rose Quartz is a gentle tone that conveys calmness and compassion. Serenity is airy and weightless just like the vast blue sky, subconsciously bringing feelings of relaxation. Mixed together, these two demonstrate an inherent balance between the warm rose tone and the cool tranquil blue. Their softness brings psychologically peace to the individual, hence, symbolizing the gender equality and fluidity. And if you are still confused about the color of the year, just think of it as light blue and light pink mixed together.
This outfit features just a hint of Pantone’s color of 2016, which fuses with a mix of pastels. While its notion is very slight, the overall impression of this look is relaxed, which as I said the color itself brings as a feeling. And if I need to go into specifics, possible color pairings involve neutral pastels like light browns, darker browns and greys (as styled here); mid-tones like purples and some greens; basic white; classic navy; yellows or variations of deep pinks would also work perfectly. If you are looking for a collection which somehow features it, check out Bulgaria Mall’s Esprit for some themed casual finds.
