Happy Earth Day! On this day worldwide events are being held to show support for environmental protection. While I myself believe these shouldn’t occur on a single day of the year, I still feel the self-obligation to show my support today.
There are thousands of ways to help protect Earth on a daily basis. I won’t pretend I am that caring person sacrificing my own needs in order to save the environment. But I try to do as much as possible, believing that every single effort counts. For instance, Ron and I have been recycling for over 5 years. We have 3 multi-use eco shoppers that we use when grocery shopping. We re-use plastic and paper bags as many times as possible. We are also vegetarians which saves up a great amount of water.
Another way Ron and I are honoring Earth is by recycling unneeded garments. This year we got involved in the World Recycle Week (18-24 April) organized by H&M. We gathered 4 bags of old clothes, and brought them to our closest H&M store. Thus, we supported the goal to collect over 1 000 tons of clothing, which to be recycled and used for the production of new fabrics. If you have some clothes in a poor condition, join the movement and help close the loop. In return, as a thankful note, you will be gifted two 15%-off vouchers to spend at H&M.
In this line, I decided to share with you a publication that feels close to nature and put on a pink dress made from 100% recycled materials. This pink dress is part of H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection and has once again proven that fashion and recycling can go hand in hand, without compromising on quality and aesthetics. Can you imagine that in a year you could be wearing a dress made from the clothes you have recycled today? It doesn’t take much effort, but it can change much. So, if you are wondering how to make your contribution to Earth Day and a sustainable future, helping H&M close the loop is a great starting point.
Are you taking part in an environmental event today? How do you contribute to environmental protection on a daily basis?
