Some women love wearing black. I am not one who is crazy about it. It is elegant, classic and eternal but I scarcely fall too deeply into it. Yet, sometimes black feels right. Sometimes you just find the right piece to inspire you – like this black lace skirt.
The other day I was watching a curious video about the Little Black Dress and the color black itself. It proposed an interesting theory, explaining why black is so popular and preferred. Centuries back it started as the color of widows. Subconsciously, it revealed that women who would wear it were respectable enough to get married, sexually experienced, and available. While this explanation has certain psychological roots, I’m being slightly uncertain about it. Definitely not rejecting it, but rather believing its popularity has something to do with glorious Coco Chanel. She turned the color into iconic, and this trend spread quickly as it represented independent, successful, powerful and ever-fighting women. Whatever the theory behind black’s popularity, I really don’t suffer from such beliefs – conscious or subconscious. I wear black when I feel like doing it and as I said – when a piece of clothing inspires me.
Speaking of my inspiration source, this black lace skirt is Dream Catcher SS17. Many of you asked where they can purchase the brand’s collection. At the moment it can be found at certain retailers in Belgium only, but good news is coming. They should be finally landing their online store for FW17. So excited about this! I will let you know as soon as it’s live.
